Hannah Sim – Class of 2025
I am Hannah Sim from 24-I4, and during my time in Eunoia Junior College, I have had the privilege of serving in several roles: as the vice-chairperson of my class, the Overall-in-Charge of Project Habitat, and the Project Chairperson in my CCA, Service Learning Club.
Thinking of EJ always brings back a flood of sweet laughter-filled days, and some pretty stressful ones too! However, more than anything I feel grateful for all that has shaped my EJ experience: for the small interactions that kept me smiling through the day, for friendships that stayed steady through all the highs and lows, for my endlessly supportive teachers, and for a CCA and volunteering community that inspired me deeply and continues to do so today.
The biggest motivation for me was definitely the people around me. My friends reminded me every day, without fail, to study hard and play harder, and I always knew we could count on each other through the longer, tougher days. My CCA, the Service Learning Club, also became a constant source of inspiration for me. From the very first session, I remember feeling warm, welcomed, and truly seen. Being guided by our passionate teachers and surrounded by genuine, like-minded people motivated me to give my all at every service session. It also pushed me to dedicate more effort to causes close to my heart, bringing so much purpose into my life today.
Something I hope to hold on to is the feeling that you can become whoever you want to be, and to have the courage to pursue and accomplish what you truly set your heart on. EJ gave us so many opportunities to explore our interests and grow in curiosity. It’s such a rare chance to have such a community where you discover what you care about while learning more about yourself together. I hope to carry that same sense of eagerness, and all our #whyej memories into wherever life brings me next.
