Mrs Chin-Tan Wei Lin
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) majoring in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from the National University of Singapore. Aside from academic work, I also participated in many activities such as an overseas service learning project and various Inter-Hall Games. Upon graduation, I received the NUSS Medal for Outstanding Achievement and the President’s Honour Roll (University Scholars Programme).
Prior to joining Eunoia Junior College, I taught Physics at an integrated programme school and a secondary school. I also served at the Curriculum Policy Office, which broadened my perspectives and understanding of our educational landscape.
I remain a student of life, and am still learning, un-learning and re-learning. There were several instances where I was challenged to align my perception of the world and the concepts that were presented. I learnt to accept, find meaning and persevere in order to achieve breakthroughs. I am grateful to have had the privilege of learning from several professors, teachers and mentors who taught me to question my assumptions, and who guided and inspired me.
“Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” (Eph 4:29)
I believe that our students need a significant adult voice in their lives to help them make sense of the things which happen around them and to find meaning and purpose in what they do. I spearheaded a mentorship programme in my previous school which aimed to help students clarify and articulate their own growth in various aspects of their lives. It brings me great fulfilment to observe students gain courage and confidence. I look forward to continue this work at Eunoia Junior College.
