Ms Liu Lijun
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Second Upper Honours) in 2006 from the National University of Singapore and subsequently obtained the Postgraduate Diploma in Education at the National Institute of Education. For the best performance in Education Studies, I was awarded the Justice Choor Singh Gold Medal in 2007.
Since beginning my career as a Chemistry teacher at a junior college, I have strived to deliver my every lesson with lots of drive and fireworks. As my passion in teaching grew, I learned to balance idealism with pragmatism, experimenting with new pedagogy to guide my students’ love for learning. Taking on the role of Subject Head (Student Leadership) and later as Head of Department (Project Work), I have explored ways of making learning authentic and rich enough to meet a range of diverse needs.
As Head of Department for Character & Citizenship Education at Eunoia Junior College, I believe that every student has the potential to learn and succeed in unique ways. Our role as teachers is to enable our students to discover their passion in life, and on top of that, their passion for life. We must continue to inspire our students to dream while equipping them with the discipline to make their dreams a reality.
The thought of joining Eunoia Junior College electrifies me precisely because of the new possibilities for creativity and growth! Just as I ask my students to have courage and imagination, I joined this pioneering team to create a new school that will live up to its forward-looking name. My enduring curiosity is not just limited to the professional context though — cafe-hopping, my new hobby, has allowed me to explore both historic and new parts of Singapore!
Lijun joined the college as a pioneering Head of Department in 2016.
